AMD's new Ryzen AI 400 laptops drop next week - beating Intel again

Asus just accidentally posted a listing in China for a laptop running the Ryzen AI 7 445. The launch date? January 22. That's literally next week. And here's where it gets interesting - Intel's new Panther Lake chips don't hit shelves until January 27. So AMD just pulled another fast one on their biggest rival.

I've been testing AMD laptops for years now, and this aggressive timing makes total sense. They did the same thing with the Ryzen 7000 series back in 2023. Get to market first, grab the early adopters, force Intel to play catch-up. It works.

The Ryzen AI 7 445 is part of AMD's Gorgon Point lineup. Yeah, weird codename, but these chips pack some serious AI acceleration that actually matters for real work. Think faster photo editing, smoother video calls with background blur, that sort of thing. Not just marketing fluff.

What really catches my eye though? The timing suggests AMD's confident about supply. Usually when companies rush products to market, you can't actually buy them anywhere. But if Asus is already listing these laptops, I'm betting we'll see decent availability. At least in Asia first, then probably hitting US stores by February.
