China's First 6nm GPUs Just Hit the Streets for Real

Okay so I saw this news and had to share. Remember those Chinese-made GPUs everyone was talking about at tech shows earlier this year? The ones that supposedly matched some of AMD and Nvidia's mid-range stuff? Well, they're actually shipping now.

Lisuan's G100 series graphics cards have started arriving at customers' doors, and honestly, this is kind of a big deal. These aren't just rebadged chips or old tech - they're legitimate 6nm GPUs designed and manufactured entirely in China. That's the same process node that powers cards like the RTX 4060 and RX 7600. Not cutting edge anymore, but definitely modern.

Here's what makes this interesting: China's been trying to break into the GPU market for years, and most attempts have been... underwhelming. But the G100 might actually be competitive. Early benchmarks from trade shows suggested performance somewhere between a GTX 1660 and RTX 3050. Not gonna blow anyone away, but perfectly fine for 1080p gaming and definitely good enough for office work.

The timing couldn't be better for Lisuan. With GPU prices finally normalizing in 2025, they need something compelling to grab market share. And being the first Chinese company to ship modern discrete graphics cards? That's their angle. Plus, with all the trade restrictions and tech tensions, having a domestic GPU option is huge for China's tech independence goals.

Will these cards make it outside China? Probably not anytime soon. But for a first real attempt at competing with the big boys, shipping actual products to actual customers is a solid start. Now we just need to see some real-world benchmarks from users who aren't affiliated with the company.
