Here's what's happening. These fabs are working with independent engineers and secondary market suppliers to upgrade their Twinscan NXT series machines. We're talking about deep ultraviolet lithography systems that ASML sold before the export bans kicked in. Instead of buying new equipment (which they can't), they're upgrading subsystems on the gear they already have. Think of it like taking your 5-year-old gaming PC and swapping in a new GPU and more RAM instead of buying a whole new rig.
