They spun off from AMD back in 2009 and have been cranking out silicon for everyone from automotive companies to IoT device makers. But now they're grabbing actual CPU designs. Not just manufacturing tech. The actual blueprints for processors.

Think about what this means. When a company like Apple or Qualcomm needs chips made, they used to just send GlobalFoundries their designs and say "make these."
