According to their support docs, they're testing a feature that lets you change your actual Gmail address. Not just create an alias or forward emails - actually change the @gmail.com part. And here's the kicker: you keep getting emails at both addresses and all your data stays put. No starting from scratch, no losing years of emails.
India's getting first dibs on this experimental feature, which honestly makes sense given how many users they have there. No official announcement yet, but the support documentation is already live, so this is definitely happening.
I've been waiting for this since forever. The number of times I've helped friends set up new professional emails because they're stuck with CoolDude420@gmail.com is ridiculous. Sure, you could always create a new account, but then you're juggling multiple inboxes and trying to remember which Amazon account goes with which email. This fixes all that.
