Microsoft's blocking Windows testers from downloading ISOs
Rufus dev and Windows Insiders hit with IP bans trying to grab the latest preview builds. Here's what's happening.

Okay so I saw this mess and had to share because it's affecting a bunch of people trying to test Windows 11. Microsoft's apparently blocking IP addresses when folks try to download the latest Insider Preview ISOs, and yeah, it's as annoying as it sounds.
One of the Rufus developers (you know, that bootable USB tool everyone uses) confirmed they're getting blocked too. So it's not just random users - even the people making tools to help Windows installations are getting shut out. Multiple Windows Insiders are reporting the same thing. Try to grab an ISO? Boom, IP ban.
Here's what gets me - these are people literally volunteering to test Microsoft's software. Free QA work, basically. And they can't even download the files they need? The whole point of the Insider program is getting early builds into testers' hands. Blocking them defeats the purpose.
Nobody knows if this is intentional or just Microsoft's servers being weird again. Could be an overzealous security system, could be a config mistake. But whatever the cause, it's been going on long enough that people are noticing and complaining. I'd bet money this gets fixed pretty quick once someone at Microsoft realizes they're blocking their own beta testers.
For now, if you're trying to grab those ISOs and getting blocked, you're not alone. Maybe wait a day or two before trying again. Or just use the Windows Update path if you're already in the Insider program - that still seems to work fine.
