RAM Prices Hit Rock Bottom in 2026 - Here's What to Buy

Okay so I saw these RAM prices today and literally did a double-take. We're talking DDR5-6000 32GB kits for under ninety bucks. That's not a typo. The same kit that would've cost you three hundred dollars in early 2025 is now cheaper than a decent dinner for two.

Here's what's happening. The whole AI boom that everyone predicted would jack up component prices? Yeah, it did the opposite for RAM. Manufacturers went nuts building capacity expecting every AI startup to need server farms, but turns out most of them are just renting cloud compute instead. Now we've got warehouses full of memory modules and prices are in freefall.

For DDR5, the sweet spot right now is those 32GB kits running at 6000MHz with CL30 timings. G.Skill's Trident Z5 RGB kit just dropped to $87 on Amazon, and that's proper Samsung B-die memory, not the cheaper stuff. If you need more capacity, 64GB kits are hovering around $165, which is just insane considering they were pushing $500 in mid-2025.

But here's the thing - DDR4 isn't dead yet. If you're still running an older system, DDR4-3600 16GB kits are going for $35. Thirty-five dollars! That's less than what 8GB cost two years ago. Perfect time to max out that AM4 or LGA1200 board you've been meaning to upgrade.

My take? Buy now, seriously. These prices won't stick around forever. Once the market corrects itself or demand picks up again in 2027, we'll be kicking ourselves for not loading up.
