Woot's selling a USB-C disc drive for ten bucks and I'm buying 3
Found this insane deal on a external DVD drive that actually works with modern laptops. At $9.99 it's cheaper than a movie ticket.

Okay so I saw this deal and had to share because honestly, when was the last time you saw a decent disc drive under ten bucks? Woot's got this USB-C external DVD drive for $9.99 right now, which is apparently 55% off the regular price. And before you ask, yes it actually reads AND writes discs. Both CDs and DVDs.
Here's why I'm grabbing a few of these. First off, I've got boxes of old backup discs from like 2015 that I keep meaning to transfer to cloud storage. My work laptop hasn't had a disc drive since 2020. Plus my parents keep asking me to digitize their old photo CDs and I'm tired of borrowing my neighbor's ancient Dell laptop just to access them.
The USB-C connection is what sold me though. No dongles, no adapters, just straight into my MacBook or Surface. Works with pretty much any computer made in the last five years. I tested a similar model last year and the read speeds were totally fine for ripping music or installing old software.
Look, I get it. Physical media feels ancient in 2026. But for ten dollars? That's less than what I spent on coffee yesterday. If you've got any old discs lying around or still buy the occasional DVD, this is a no-brainer. Just saying, at this price they'll probably sell out before the weekend.
